Marta Różańska from the University of Oslo presented groundbreaking research at the ACSOS 2023 conference. She took the stage at the 1st ASMECC Workshop on Autonomic and Self-Management for the Edge-Cloud Continuum (ASMECC 2023) and shared the latest publication titled “Modelling Adaptive Autonomic Cloud Application Utility Using Template Functions.”

In the publication, Marta addressed the crucial issue of making autonomic decisions in the dynamic Cloud application environment. The challenge was accurately modeling utility functions that reflect the application owner’s preferences. She proposed a systematic approach that leveraged utility function templates, automated quality checks, and the influence of measurement and performance indicator values on the utility function’s range. This approach was exemplified through a Cloud application case study, which was compared to manually modeled utility functions.
